EMV Solution Is Available Today With Eight Processors in the U.S. and Canada
LAS VEGAS — Nov. 15, 2016 — (PRWeb) —
Payment gateway provider Shift4 Corporation and Epicor Software Corporation, a global provider of industry-specific enterprise software, today announced the general availability of an EMV-certified solution made to measure for lumber and building materials dealers and distributors.
The solution includes:
- Layered payment security: EMV helps prevent the fraudulent use of stolen card data in card-present environments. With Shift4’s DOLLARS ON THE NET and Epicor® BisTrack™ software, lumber and building materials (LBM) retailers can process EMV payments while adding the layered security of point-to-point encryption (P2PE) and tokenization. This is designed to keep sensitive cardholder data out of the merchant’s payment processing environment, greatly helping to reduce their breach profile and PCI scope — and to protect their customers’ payment data from hackers.
- Thirteen supported devices: Shift4 currently supports a variety of EMV-capable terminals by Ingenico Group and Verifone, with options for USB, serial, Ethernet, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. This allows LBM dealers and distributors to easily implement EMV within their current operations.
- Bank and processor neutrality: Shift4 is currently certified for EMV with eight major processors in the U.S. and Canada — with more on the way — delivering unparalleled coverage of acquirers in North America and the Caribbean. This makes it easy for merchants to adopt EMV without changing their financial relationships and gives them the freedom to negotiate the best payment processing rates or make a switch if needed.
Jason Parchomchuk, product manager, Epicor Software, said:
“For LBM dealers and distributors, EMV has presented yet another challenge in an already fiercely competitive market. We are pleased to be offering EMV-based applications today via the integration between Epicor BisTrack software and Shift4’s DOLLARS ON THE NET. Our solution challenges the status quo by providing the flexibility and layered security designed to make implementing EMV a success both for retailers in the LBM materials industry as well as their customers.”
Dave Oder, CEO, Shift4, said:
“Shift4 is proud to partner with Epicor to help lumber and building materials dealers and distributors increase the security of their payments and optimize their business operations. With our joint solution, merchants can implement EMV to improve card verification at physical points of sale and have confidence that their customers’ payment data receives enhanced protection thanks to the layered security provided by Shift4’s True P2PE and TrueTokenization technologies.”
