LAS VEGAS and SPRINGFIELD, Va. (Marketwire) Thursday, July 21, 2011 — Shift4 Corporation, the world’s largest card-present payment gateway, and Menusoft Systems, innovators and developers of the Digital Dining POS, are excited to announce a new integration that leverages the power of Shift4’s 4Go® technology to completely remove cardholder data (CHD) from the Digital Dining POS environment.
Shift4 and Menusoft have worked together for several years and have released a number of integrations between DOLLARS ON THE NET and the Digital Dining POS, but this version is the first to pair Digital Dining with 4Go and TrueTokenization®, Shift4’s time-tested tokenization solution.
“We’re excited to bring this technology to our friends at Digital Dining and to their end-users,” said Bob Lowe, Shift4’s Vice President of Business Development. “With this solution in place, restaurateurs can completely remove their POS application from the scope of PCI audits.”
This reduction in scope is possible because 4Go captures card data at the point of swipe, before it even enters the POS, and replaces that data with false cardholder data until a token is returned. This means that true CHD (the information PCI requires merchants to protect) is never stored, processed, or transmitted by the merchants’ system.
Shift4’s TrueTokenization provides merchants with a unique, random, alphanumeric token for every transaction. Merchants can safely store and use this token internally for up to 24 months.
“Providing simple, secure solutions to our merchants has always been our mission,” said Menusoft’s Senior Business Development Manager Andre Nataf. “We’re excited to be working with Shift4 to make our solution even more secure.”
This integration is now available to merchants through Digital Dining resellers. Resellers attending the RetailNOW convention in Florida this week have been invited to a Shift4 luncheon to learn more about the partnership and the benefits of this product.
