LAS VEGAS (Marketwire) Thursday, June 14, 2012 — Shift4 Corporation, the world’s largest independent payment gateway, today expands its involvement in the world of professional golf, announcing a sponsorship agreement with PGA TOUR professional Scott Piercy.
“There are a few key things we love: family, charity, and golf,” said Shift4 CEO Dave Oder. “Scott combines all three; he’s a committed father of three, an active supporter of several worthy charity organizations, and a world-class golfer.”
Piercy, a native Las Vegan who went pro in 2001, earned two wins on the Nationwide Tour before joining the PGA TOUR in 2009.
According to the sponsorship agreement, Shift4’s logo will appear on Piercy’s right sleeve, and he will make appearances at Shift4 events throughout the year.
Shift4, whose presence in the golf world has grown significantly in recent years, also sponsors PGA TOUR professional Ryan Moore, and is heavily involved with the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open held annually in Las Vegas. This year, Shift4 will also be a key sponsor of the Reno-Tahoe Open, where Piercy is the reigning champ – having earned his first PGA TOUR win there in 2011.
“I’m excited to be working with Shift4 and the Oder family,” Piercy said. “They’ve got a great organization and use their resources to help a lot of people. I’m particularly excited to get involved with their Birdies4Shriners charity fundraiser – what a great initiative to help Shriners Hospitals for Children.”
Birdies4Shriners is Shift4’s fundraising campaign that combines giving and golf to benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children. Since the beginning of the season, Shift4 and dozens of generous sponsors have tracked the play of Ryan Moore and continue to make donations to the Shriners Hospitals for Children each time he scores a birdie, eagle, or ace.
Shift4’s endorsement of Piercy officially kicks off with his appearance this week in the U.S. Open at San Francisco’s challenging Olympic Club.
