Las Vegas (January 9, 2008) Shift4 Corporation has taken merchant advocacy to a new level by offering a unique new online training course designed to help retail clerks stop bad transactions at the register, the greatest point of vulnerability. Losses associated with accepting bad checks, counterfeit currency, and fake credit cards and ID exceed $1,733.00 per employee per year. At a cost of under $40.00 per employee, the motivation to train retail employees using Shift4’s online fraud prevention program is clear.
Upon completion of this course, retail employees and managers will be able to cut losses by understanding common transaction security risks and security features used by most card brands and currency. They also will be better able to spot fake or altered credit cards, currency, and drivers’ licenses and other forms of ID. This is the only course of its kind for retailers and will be offered through Shift4 University starting January 14, 2008.
This fully interactive 40-minute online course uses high-quality graphics, animations, visual aids, video and skill lessons. Students experience a self-paced course designed to stop and start at their convenience. Clerks, cashiers, managers and anyone who conducts transactions will greatly benefit from this valuable content.
“When you consider all the challenges merchants face related to transaction security and payments in general, this course was a natural extension of our merchant advocacy culture. Shift4 is in the business of developing tools that help merchants win. We see this new online course as the first of many modules that will be designed to stop bad transactions and provide the quality educational content merchants need. Protecting the merchant against loss is something that Shift4 has been involved with since 1994,” stated Randy Carr.
The online course will be launched at the 2008 National Retail Federation show January 14 ? 15 at the Javits Center in New York. Shift4 will demonstrate the online course at booth #2442.
